Manicure Monday #6

Hello beautiful people :)
Today has been a battle with my nails.
The amount of nail polish remover I have used today is ridiculous.
I have tried five different designs and none of them have worked.
I'm just having an off day with my nails.
But don't worry I do have a Manicure Monday for you all!

I will warn you now that I'm not in love with them.
But the longer I look at them, they kind of grow on me.

The colours this week are an assortment.
I have used four different colours and you'll see why very soon.
I have Sally Hensen's Mint Sorbet as a base colour and I have also used Sally Hensen's Mellow Yellow, Essie's Play Date and a mysterious blue colour.
I have no idea where the label went...
I got this idea from Pinterest
The finished product.
It doesn't look like the Pinterest one, but I don't care.
To do this, I placed a dot of each colour (one by one) in the corner of my nail and used a toothpick to spread the colour outwards.
It looks like paint splatters and I kind of like it.

Although this wasn't my initial plan, it's growing on me.
Things don't always work out and I definitely figured that out today!
Haha!
Leave a comment below and let me know what you think of this look!
& Hopefully next week my nails will cooperate with me!

Manicure Monday #5

Hello beautiful people :)
Hope you are all doing well and having a fabulous start to your week!
This is surprising because I haven't posted a Manicure Monday this early.
But today has been kind of a productive day!
Go me!
I have gone very pink and girly this week!
Pink and sparkles?
I am just loving this combination! aha!
This week I am using Sally Hensen's Bubblegum and O.P.I's Teenage Dream.
This wasn't my initial plan for this week's Manicure Monday.
I wanted to do a glitter ombre, but it just wasn't working out for me.
But I am still pleased with my nails.
The pink, itself, is very girly and the sparkles just make it even more girly and fun.
What I really like about the O.P.I polish is that there are very tiny sparkles and larger ones that provide a nice combination.
The larger sparkles catch the light very nicely.

I've only had my nails painted for an hour and I'm spending most of my time staring at them whilst the light shines on them.
They are very feminine  and fun.
It's like a party on my nails!

Well, that's all for now!
If any of you know how I could successfully do a glitter ombre please share below, so I can try it again! :)

Manicure Monday #4

Hello beautiful people :)
I apologize for the delay in Manicure Monday this week!
Today ended up being a little busier than I had anticipated!
But don't worry, I have not forgotten and it is here :)
*insert applause*
;)

This week I chose two pretty colours :)
I have Essie's play date and Essie's blanc on my nails.
I use to really like Essie's blanc, but I'm finding that when I apply it, it's very chunky and the consistency isn't the same.
It can be quite annoying because there will be blobs on my nails or it can look very stringy.
However, Essie's Play Date is my favourite to apply.
The colour is so soft and very easy to put on.
It goes on very smoothly and evenly, which I love in a polish :)

How did I paint my nails, you ask?
Well here is what they look like!
So on Instagram and Pinterest there have been a lot of pictures with nail designs like this!
I really like the way this looks.
I think it's something different!
I've been wanting to try this for a while, but I've been a little scared to actually do so.
But I did it anyways and it definitely came out better than I thought!
With this being my first time, I hope to get better at doing this.
But I do think that I did pretty darn good for my first time!

Manicure Monday #3

Hello beautiful people :)
So I had a tough time deciding what I wanted to do with my nails this week.
I changed my mind about three times.
The first two options just didn't work and what I finally picked was very simple.

I just want to say there is a beautiful thunderstorm happening as I write this.
I'm normally quite scared of them, but there's a certain beauty about this one that is making me enjoy it.
Anyways back to my nails :)

Nice. Simple. Spring.
I decided on Sally Hensen's 340 Mint Sorbet.
Apparently, I only own Sally Hensen nail polish...I need to widen my nail polish brands.
This has been my favourite colour to wear during the summer for the past two years.
I am obsessed with this colour and this polish goes on so nicely!
Whenever I am deciding on what colour to paint my nails, I always end up picking up this one.

It's a perfect colour for both spring and summer.
I'll definitely be wearing this more than once this season.
My hands look much more tanned with this colour on.
Although they look quite white with the light shining on them, without it the tan is there.
I promise ;)
& because I haven't done much tanning yet, making it look like I have a tan is great :)

That's all for this post :)
Leave a comment below and let me know what your go to nail polish is for the spring and summer seasons :)
Hope you all had a fantastic day!

Manicure Monday #3

Hello beautiful people! :)
I hope that all of you had a spectacular Monday!
I really need to post these Manicure Mondays earlier in the day!
Today's Monday hasn't been the best considering how the Toronto vs. Boston game 7 went...but I'll look past that soon enough, hehe.
For this week I used a familiar colour that has been used before.
BAM!
This week's colours are Essie's blanc and Sally Hensen's Mellow Yellow.
Since my Monday was a little gloomy, I wanted to use the yellow because I knew that it would brighten my mood.
Now, this yellow looked like a dark yellow after applying one coat.
Luckily, it got brighter as I added more layers :)
I used the Essie nail polish to add polka dots.
The colour yellow and polka dots automatically make me happy.
So I thought adding the two together would just make everything better :)
& I was correct.
I used the end of a bobby pin to add the polka dots and applied them randomly.
This is the first time that I've used polka dots, so they aren't perfect but I tried my best :)
My left hand looks quite funny, which is why I have featured my right hand in this blog haha

Overall, I am really happy with how my nails turned out.
They make me smile every time I look at them.
I hope you like them!

Manicure Monday #2

Hello again beautiful people :)
Look at this, two posts in one day! What!!
But it is Manicure Monday so I have to make an update on my nails!
So if you read my Walmart Haul post you know that I purchased two new Sally Hensen nail polishes.
So for this week I chose to use both colours :)
The yellow is called Mellow Yellow and the Coral is called Coral Reef.
Together they remind me of Pink lemonade, which reminds me of the summer :)
The colour comes on quite beautifully, but you have to apply enough layers.
Depending on how you apply it, it can come on streaky but can be easily fixed by adding another layer.
(Sorry for the awkward hand position, I ain't no hand model)
Anyways, this is what the polish looks like when it is on!
The yellow really pops, which I love because it really accents the ring finger.
I know that I did the same style as last week with different colours, but I just loved both of these colours. I couldn't choose!
Every time I look at my nails, all I think about is summer and the warm weather and they instantly make me happy.

I promise that next week I'll do something a little more creative :)
Leave a comment below if you like these colours or what you are rocking on your nails.

The Importance of Friendship

Hello beautiful people :)
I hope you are all having a fantastic Monday and had a great weekend!
Considering the events that I experienced on the weekend, I want to do a small post about friendship.
I've gotten the comment that I've gone through a lot of friends and I always seem to have friend drama.
I hate hearing that because it's something that I try to avoid and yet it still finds me.
Throughout the end of elementary school and all through high school, I thought I had a solid group of girls that I could rely on...but I was wrong.
Fight after fight, I realized that these girls didn't care about me.

I have so many walls up because I'm tired of losing friends.
It makes me sound like a loser, but it's true :(
When people say that first year University puts your friendships to the test, they really do mean it.
Being away from each other for a year, you learn to see who is still there for you regardless of being so far away.
Stuff happens and naturally you grow apart from some of your friends.
I have unfortunately grown apart from some really close friends, but being at school as definitely brought me closer to some of my other friends.

I just find it crazy that you can think that you're best friends with a person and all it takes is a month of being away from each other and it's like you are strangers.
Me and a friend were inseparable for the second half of high school, you could not see one of us without seeing the other.
We were literally attached at the hips.
She was one of the girls where I thought I would be friends with forever.
I was mistaken.

Over the past year, I've noticed that a lot of my friends aren't people that are going to be there for me whenever I need them.
They may seem like they are, but when put in the situation they don't.
So recently, I've received amazing advice and I've realized why bother being friends with people who don't make you happy?
Why be friends with people who you can't be yourself around?
With this being brought to my attention, I realized that I don't need her in my life if I'm not important to her.

Actually going through with this was questionable
But with the encounter I had with her on the weekend, I knew it was for the best.
It felt like I was meeting her for the first time and she had no idea who I was.
Not only did it shock me, but it hurt and I felt invisible.
It's not an enjoyable feeling and it's definitely not something that someone who was your best friend should make you feel.

It's important to surround yourself with friends that accept you for your flaws, make you happy and will put a smile on your face when you are having a bad day.
Be with people who won't judge you or try to change you.
Finding true friends may not be the easiest, but when you find them they won't leave you.
Your friendships may be put to the test, but if they pass with flying colours then you know they are awesome.
Those will be the friends that will be your bridesmaids and maid of honour at your wedding,
the godmothers of your children and the ones that you'll be reminiscing about your past whilst your children are off playing in another room.

Everyone deserves to be happy!
Don't let your 'friends' degrade you or make you believe that you are not awesome.
Because you are :)

Manicure Monday :)

Hello beautiful people :)
So, I'm going to start doing a Manicure Monday on this blog.
With my summer already started, I find myself repainting my nails every week.
& I figure that it would be a great idea to show all of you what I've decided to paint my nails for the week.
Hopefully, as the summer goes on I will start trying new nail designs that I find on pinterest.
I will guarantee you that, they will not always turn out perfect, but hey at least I tried ;)

For this week's manicure, I decided to use two different colours of nail polish.
The first colour being L'Oreal's Greycian Goddess, number 560.
& the second colour being Sally Hensen's Bubblegum Pink, number 470.
I'm spending most of my week searching for a job and I wanted to pick a colour that shows maturity and sophistication whilst being playful and girly at the same time.
I used the Greycian Goddess colour on all four of my fingers and then using the Bubblegum Pink to accent my ring finger.

I'm not one to buy dark colours like the L'Oreal one, but for some reason this caught my eye.
It took a while for me to like it once I painted my nails with it for the first time, but I absolutely love it now.
I was skeptical to pair the two of the colours, but looking at my nails now I love it
The Greycian Goddess is very simple and mature, in my opinion.
Whereas, the Bubblegum Pink is very playful and girly.
To me, this shows the best of both worlds :)

Let me know what you guys think about my nails!
I hope you all had a beautiful Monday :)
